Isambour married Philipp Augustus twice. This is the sad Agnes de Meran story. The French King wanted a friendship of Danmark and so married Isambour who was a "country girl" but he then fell in lovewith Agnes de Meran, so he dropped Isambour and put her into a convent. After several children were born to Agnes de Meran, the Pope stepped in and forced the king to take Isambour back (they were married again in 1200). He pretended he did but then the very young Agnes died. Isambour was treated as Queen but they probably never shared the bed together and no children were born.
